Many people live in the catchment area of the River Mease. Everyone that lives there has a connection to the river, even though they may not realise it. Communities are able to have an important role in enhancing and protecting the River Mease.

If you like to know more or get involved then why do you join a local community group. If there isn’t one, set one up. Community groups are a good way to get to know local people, to learn more about the local area and to get active. Community groups can be very valuable in generating local support for issues, undertaking physical works (litter piking, Balsam bashing or habits works). There are lots of grants available for community groups to apply to for funding to help them delivery works in their local area.

If you are interested in getting involved in a local community group but are unsure where to start please contact us at Trent Rivers Trust (see ‘contact us), and we may be able to help.

There are other ways you can protect the river listed under the ‘Homeowners’ section of this website.
