Catchment Sensitive Farming

About Catchment Sensitive Farming

Catchment Sensitive Farming (CSF) is a project run by Natural England in partnership with the Environment Agency and The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).

CSF capital grants are available in priority catchments, the River Mease catchment being one. CSF trained staff by trained, qualified and experienced advisors with the aim of the advice being to improve the environmental performance of farms.

CSF aims to raise awareness about diffuse water pollution from agriculture and is working with the farming community to tackle these environmental challenges by encouraging changes in farming practices to help achieve healthy and robust river systems for the whole community.

Your local CSF Officer, supported by independent specialists, works within the farming community to deliver free training and practical advice tailored to the local area and farming sector, including farm events, workshops and individual farm visits.
