What is the River Mease Partnership?

The River Mease Partnership includes agencies and local authorities that are working together to protect and improve the River Mease SAC. The partnerships’ main aim is to reduce the levels of phosphate within the River Mease SAC through positive action to enable the Conservation Objectives for this Special Area of Conservation to be met.

Species and Habitat Protection

There are a wide range of national and international statutory designations protecting England’s natural environment from development, pollution, climate change and unsustainable land management. The River Mease is both a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
