River Wardens will be introduced to landowners and allocated their own stretch of river to observe and monitor any changes, note wildlife and remove Himalayan Balsam. Training and support will be provided by TRT.

Volunteers can commit to as little or much time as they want to and choose the area that they want to monitor and can work in pairs or small groups. They have now been introduced to local landowners who are willing to participate in the scheme.

New website launches

The River Mease Partnership is delighted to launch a new website to show what can be done to improve the water quality of this Special Area of Conservation.

Following the threat to important species from water pollution, The partnership is working to address water quality as part of a wider river restoration plan.

There are many ways that visitors to the area and local residents who live in the River Mease catchment can do, such as following the ‘Check, Clean, Dry’ code before fishing or walking along the river, or making sure your home’s surface and foul water plumbing have the right connections.
